Como Engineers has completed the Cancer 200 ride to support the Harry Perkins Institute in their bid to end cancer.
The event occured on Saturday and Sunday (15 and 16) October with over 1,500 riders from all walks of life donning lycra and cycling over 200 kms for a common cause.
We are very proud that included in our riding team was our work colleague Dave McCleary (who has just recovered from cancer) and his wife Kathy.
We have been able to raise (with fundraising events, donations and the generous assistance of our sponsors) $34,435. The total raised for the whole event (current as this goes to print) was $8,501,042. That’s money going directly to find cures for cancer.
Grant Blakeman (Como Engineers Managing Director) was able to say,
“It was really pleasing to follow up on our ride from last year and to have more support and more riders this year. To see so many people supporting a worthy cause and enjoying each others company is a wonderful thing”, Grant also added
“Thanks to all our riders and those who have supported us with both donations and encouragement”
We will be back next year.
