Como Engineers has recently returned from the Greenstone Gold Project located near the town of Geraldton in Ontario, Canada. Como Engineers were onsite conducting pre commissioning activities. While Geraldton Western Australia was experiencing a mild 33oC, at the same time Geraldton Ontario recorded -18oC!
The scale of the project is difficult to convey in photos. While the processing rate of 27,000 tonnes per day is significant (that equates to around 9 million tonnes per annum) it is the need to place the plant within an air conditioned shed that makes it truly impressive.
The shed occupies an area of 6,750 m2 . It is approximately 34 metres high (that’s equivalent to a 10 storey building).
And there is even room for the occassional visitor to come in from the cold.
