Paul Jacobs joins Como Engineers
It’s great to have Paul Jacobs on the Como Engineers team as our Engineering Manager.
Paul is a mechanical engineer with over 30 years of experience gained in the mining industry in Africa, Indonesia and Australia. His experience includes design, supervision, and operation of gold, nickel, platinum, chrome, cobalt, copper, and iron ore mines and processing plants.
He’s also a keen cyclist – so we know he is going to fit in perfectly.
Manub Gold Project Expansion
In late 2021 Managem asked Como Engineers to provide engineering services for their plant expansion. With COVID 19 restricting the ability of workers to travel freely, Como Engineers provided remote engineering assistance to enable Managem to update the elution plant control philosophy, PLC and HMI software to accommodate an additional CIL train and supported the implementation remotely.
Marvel Loch Crusher Upgrade
The project involved the design and engineering of a new 400 tonne per hour crushing circuit which involved the demolition and removal of the old circuit (including three fine ore bins)
The scope included the bulk earthworks associated with a new ROM wall as well as the concrete and structures for the installation of all equipment.
The circuit included crushers (primary jaw, plus secondary cone and two tertiary cone crushers), conveyors, bins and chutes as well as a screen house (secondary and tertiary screens).
The electrical supply included the high voltage, transformer and power distribution (MCC), controls and signals.
The plant also incorporated both dust and sound abatement.
Work was conducted as an EPC contract
