OK Tedi Pyrite Plant Debottlenecking Project
The debottlenecking project was a collaborative effort between Worley Parson’s and Como. Como prepared a revised design criteria and issued to WP for the rectification project.
Key improvements were:
- Replace primary flotation concentrate and cleaner flotation feed hoppers with larger ones.
- Install dissipaters on end of rougher flotation cell concentrate launders.
- Install new Warman pumps 300LF on primary flotation concentrate and cleaner flotation feed hoppers to increase pumping capacity.
- Replace pyrite thickener feed launder with large diameter pipe to increase volumetric capacity.
- Replace TPP thickener feed drop box with larger drop box to prevent overflows.
- Install Outotec Flow boosters to primary and rougher flotation cells.
- Install Sonartrak flowmeters on primary flotation concentrate and cleaner flotation feed pumps.
- Trial of Cytec defoamer to control spillage from primary flotation concentrate and cleaner flotation feed hoppers by decreasing froth factor and increasing pump efficiency.
